To lead the stewardship and governance of animal health data by developing robust data models, ensuring data quality and consistency, and fostering collaboration across veterinary, research, and business teams. This role ensures that animal-related data assets are accurately defined, standardized, and leveraged to support informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and the advancement of animal health initiatives across a global organization.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement data models revolving around animals.
Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and classification schemes.
Collaborate with marketing, veterinary professionals, researchers, data engineers, and data management teams to identify data-related requirements and ensure alignment with animal health objectives.
Monitor data quality and proactively identify and resolve issues or anomalies in animal health records and datasets.
Conduct data profiling, analysis, and validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of animal health data.
Establish data documentation and metadata management processes for animal health records, diagnostic, and research data.
Provide guidance and support to veterinary professionals and researchers on data governance best practices and standards in animal health.
Qualifications
5-8 years of proven hands-on experience working as a Data Steward, Data Manager, Data Custodian, or similar role.
Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Information Systems Management or a related field.
Proficiency in data quality, cataloguing, modelling, analysis, and metadata management.
Experience with data management tools and technologies, such as Collibra, Immuta, and Data Bricks
Experience harvesting data from ERP and CRM systems such as SAP and Salesforce, with a proven track record of building complex customer data models in international corporations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret and analyse veterinary records and diagnostic data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in dynamic environments
Advantage:
